Sun in the tank with Bidirex

For its PV charge parks in parking of malls and retail chains, Bidirex relies on ECOM-S

Bidirex (www.bidirex.com) was born from the merger of several companies with over 70 years of expertise in metal processing, mechanical engineering and vehicle technology. It launched its first charge station back in 2014.

As a long-term operator of charge parks and charge stations, the company connects PV roofs with DC chargers up to 300KW and AC chargers up to 22 KW. In the future, charge parks of Bidirex can be found in parking lots of malls, supermarkets, DIY stores and other large-scale retailers. The media displays built-in the charge stations will generate additional advertising revenue.

The pilot installation in front of the nationwide supermarket chain Netto will go into operation in mid-December 2023. The charge park includes 84 parking spaces with PV roofing, 8 charge points for DC and 14 charge points for AC. It will also be accessible by trucks.

For almost 4 decades, DAFÜR has been a manufacturer of SASE systems for mission- and security-critical, distributed infrastructures under NIS2 / RCE, of transaction systems in payment transactions and of cloud-based platforms for value-added services at the point of sales.

ED, the edge device and operating computer provided by DAFÜR, is the basis for all locally required software components. It ensures a redundant, highly available external communication of the entire charge park, provides an OCPP gateway between CSO backend and charge station controller, a graphical user interface for control terminals and charge stations, calibration-compliant local storage of charging data records for adjustable time periods and buffers the contents of the media displays.

CBPS, the Charge Billing & Payment System developed by DAFÜR, closes the gap between the charge station controller (CSC) and the backend of the charge station operator (CSO). In addition to barrier-free payment in the open loop with debit cards, credit cards and various wallets, the integrated POS system also handles payment functionalities in the closed loop as well as a variety of other value-added services. These include fleet cards, plug & charge (ISO 15118), operator-owned charging cards, vouchers, and support for customer loyalty systems such as PayBack.

When used in conjunction with the DAFÜR edge device, CBPS enables temporary offline operation while the CSO backend is unavailable. It is available for use cases CRID as well as OPT.

Debit and credit cards as well as wallets are processed by RS2 Financial Services, a globally active payment service provider. Charging systems equipped with CBPS can therefore also be used in international markets.

In the future, both companies would like to cooperate to the extent that charge parks and stations of Bidirex are equipped with the solutions of DAFÜR.
